The Laos visa online scheme has been developed to boost efficiency in visa processing and as a more convenient way for visitors to apply for tourist visas, due to the limited number of Lao embassies and consulates overseas, the issuing of Lao visas for foreigners has been costly and time-consuming.
Before Laos, many other countries have offered online e-visa services for tourists and business people to provide them with more convenience.
This new system allows citizens from all eligible countries the chance to obtain electronic visas instead of standard paper visas, makes both the application process and the entry process a lot easier, since e-Visa holders have a separate line when passing through customs.
